Webxites President Gene McCubbin Finalist for Entrepreneur of The Year
Houston, TX - June 24, 2004 - Webxites LP, one of America's most progressive small-business Internet services companies is pleased to announce that its President and co-founder, Gene McCubbin, has been honored as a finalist for the 2004 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award. McCubbin was one of four nominees in the Technology Entrepreneur division for the multi-state Gulf Coast Region.

McCubbin co-founded Webxites after being approached by a group of investors that asked him to assist in the development of a new Web Hosting provider. Providing a low cost, high-touch, service oriented solution and competing with larger brand names, such as Yahoo and Microsoft, Webxites rolled out its web services to small and mid-size businesses at a median price point of $49.95 for web design, hosting, high-speed dial-up access, and unlimited technical support. The company immediately began to grow, increasing revenues more than 650% in the first year, and an additional 250% the second.
For a young entrepreneur, at 33 years old, McCubbin's insight, business acumen and success rival those with decades of experience. Under his leadership Webxites has achieved an incredible level of success, also being named as Houston 's 2nd Fast growing Technology Company in the 2003 PKF FastTech 50 awards .
